Work remotely from Liwliwa

By Bibe & Sam, your hosts in Liwliwa · Updated November 2026

Looking for a quieter place to work for a few days, a week or longer? Riverback Sanctuary is a small eco-homestay on a river island in Liwliwa, Zambales, designed for guests who want to balance focused work with slow mornings, beach breaks and time outdoors.

Whether you call yourself a remote worker, freelancer or digital nomad, this is not a coworking space with a beach view. It is a peaceful place to stay, work comfortably and live a little closer to nature.

Reliable WiFi on the island

WiFi reaches all three cabins and the shared outdoor spaces, with speeds usually around 40 Mbps. It is suitable for everyday remote work, video calls, emails and streaming.

Mobile signal can be weak in Liwliwa, especially depending on your provider and where you are on the island. We recommend planning to work from our WiFi rather than relying on a hotspot.

Power during brownouts

Brownouts do happen in Zambales. Our solar panels and battery system help keep the essentials running when the grid goes down, including lights, fans, air-conditioning and WiFi.

We built this system because reliable power matters when you are working remotely, but also because we want to reduce our dependence on the grid wherever we can.

A simple place to focus

Each cabin has a table and chairs, so you have a proper place to open your laptop. Acacia and Agoho are air-conditioned; Talisay is fan-cooled and is a more affordable option for a simple, longer stay.

Outside, there are shaded terraces, hammocks and quiet corners under the trees. Some days you may want to work from your cabin. On others, you may take a coffee outside, listen to the river and slow your pace down a little.

Work, then step outside

Riverback is intentionally quiet: no parties, no karaoke and no crowded common areas. You will hear birds, the river and the sounds of island life.

When you need a break, Liwliwa surf beach, cafés and small restaurants are around a 5 to 10 minute walk away. Go for a surf, a swim, a sunset walk or simply lunch by the beach before returning to the island.

Monthly stays and longer escapes

If Liwliwa feels like the kind of place where you would like to stay longer, we also offer monthly stay options for guests who want to settle in for a while.

This can work well for remote workers, digital nomads, people taking a longer break from the city, or anyone who wants a slower rhythm close to nature.

Monthly stays are arranged directly with us, depending on the cabin, season and your dates. Send us a message with your preferred dates and the kind of stay you have in mind, and we will be happy to discuss the best option.

If you are looking for a digital nomad stay in the Philippines that feels personal, quiet and close to nature, check availability at Riverback Sanctuary.
